Opening Day

I’ve always gone against the grain when it comes to blogging. Never have been interested in doing it. Never have wanted to do it.
Until now.
The birth of valleysportspulse.com is a blessing. It’s a challenge. It’s also an opportunity to report sports my way. No time restrictions. No word limit. Surround myself with quality people to get the job done. And have fun. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do at CBS 47 On Your Side. What sports fan wouldn’t want to cover sports every day on TV? I’ve been there for 11 and a half years and counting. Now it’s time to broaden my horizons via the worldwide web while continuing my work at the big 4-7.
The athletes and coaches in the valley are all first class in my book (except for a few that aren’t coaching here anymore). I’ve developed long-lasting friendships and have been to a bunch of games: regular season, preseason and postseason.
I sincerely hope you enjoy our coverage of local sports here on valleysportspulse.com. There are many stories to be told, and we’ll cover as many as possible. Human interest stories will be our specialty. The Clifton Smith-like stories. Overcoming a knee injury to become the Bulldogs’ MVP in 2007, then signing with the Buccaneers as an NFL rookie free agent. Then the practice squad, and finally, an opportunity to shine in the league. Two touchdowns in the regular season and a Pro Bowl selection in his rookie year? Amazing. The spotlight is brighter than ever for one of my all-time favorites.
We’ll be updating the site every day. Enjoy it. Valleysportspulse.com is for you.
